Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Lessons from embarrassing loss to Indiana Pacers
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers have a defensive problem
Well LeBron James did pass the 32,000 point mark last night. The problem was it seemed like his man did too.
In this game.
The constant chatter of LeBron James being the best in the world or him being the so-called G.O.A.T. is subject to really strong debate when he plays absolutely no defense. Play close attention to LeBron’s body language after the play is over…
At this point in his career, LeBron James is not going to be a stalwart on defense. One reason is because no one seems to call him out on it (Well besides me!) and number two, he just doesn’t want to.
If the franchise player turns the ball over on offense (One of the six on the night!) why not go back on defense?
It does have an effect on the team defense overall right.
Rajon Rondo gave up a three pointer at the end of the first quarter based on an undisciplined try at a steal that broke down the defense. Which led to an avalanche of 3 pointers that buried the Lakers.
Bad rotations on shooters, being outrebounded 41-34 and 19 turnovers shows a team on the edge of collapse.
Remember the LeBron James phrase…Stay down, your brothers will pick you up?
