3. Ben McLemore
The Lakers made it clear that their Plan B was to add shooting and floor spacers to the roster. They have changed up their approach from earlier in the season, as they realize they need some shooting to succeed with LeBron James on the roster.
With the two trades showing that, why stop there? Los Angeles should continue rounding out the roster with some shooters and there won’t be many available that are better than Ben McLemore.
McLemore was picked No. 7 overall in 2013, but he has failed to live up to those expectations. At 25-years old, there is still a chance McLemore can blossom later. One area he has grown in is 3-point shooting.
This season, McLemore is shooting a career-high 41.5 percent from the 3-point line. He is making 39.4 percent of his spot-up 3-pointers this season. On the season, the Lakers are shooting 32.7 percent on spot-up 3-pointers, so McLemore would present a huge upgrade.
McLemore is looking to get his career back on track. If he is able to succeed on the Lakers and help the team make a playoff push, it should increase his market this upcoming summer.
