6. Shooting inconsistencies

An issue throughout the season for the Lakers has been their inconsistencies shooting the basketball. They are the worst free throw shooting team in the NBA and are 26th in 3-point shooting. Those inconsistencies continued during this road trip.

Los Angeles basically split the difference in their last six games. Against the Clippers, Celtics and 76ers, the team shot well. Against the Warriors, Pacers and Hawks, the team struggled. It is no surprise that the Lakers went 2-1 in the first set of games mentioned and 0-3 in the second batch.

The Lakers had two games shooting over 40 percent from the 3-point line, two in the 30s and two that were 25 percent or lower. That about sums up how consistently inconsistent the Lakers are shooting the ball.

Until the Lakers find a little more consistency with their shooting, they are going to struggle to consistently score offensively. That is expected when two of the best shooters on your team, percentage-wise, are Lance Stephenson and Rajon Rondo, two players that aren’t known for their shooting ability.
