JaVale McGee has got to play better…especially with reports of his antics!

For the record, I have been very complimentary of JaVale McGee and a big fan. For the first 10 games of the season, he basically was the only resemblance of defense for the Lakers. The man played sick during the season to the point he had to be hospitalized for pneumonia.

When he was benched for “defensive reasons” I even called Luke Walton out for the unfair benching.

This time, JaVale needs the wake-up call. His attitude is starting to wane a little bit. In 20 minutes, McGee scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds and had two blocks.

But he was terrible on his pick and roll defense. Kenneth Faried, Nene Hilario and Clint Capela kept beating him down the floor. I mean this is ridiculous!

Many Lakers fans wanted to throw their TV sets out of the window when the Zubac trade went down because Mike Muscala is not an even trade, no offense to him. Zubac was just balling. There were a lot of questions why Zubac would be traded since he was the best offensive post player the Lakers had at the time.

Then the leaks started coming out.

Couple this with your name being tied in with the locker room dust-up that got Michael Beasley traded, waived and setting up residence in China, now is not the time for the Washington or Denver JaVale that got Shaqtin’ A Fool famous. The Lakers need the two-time NBA champion, JaVale McGee, going forward.

Rumors are floating that the Lakers have eyes for DeAndre Jordan if he gets bought out by the New York Knicks. Add that with the fact that Enes Kanter was a possibility until he let his feelings for LeBron James be known should be a warning.

Tyson Chandler‘s back must be giving out at this point of the season playing only six minutes in the game. Plus, the Lakers used the small-ball lineup to get back into the game. This is what Luke Walton wants anyway. Look for more of this if it continues to work ESPECIALLY when Lonzo Ball gets back.

The worse you play, the more Lakers fans are going to pine for the Zubac days.
