– Mike Muscala

At the trade deadline, the Lakers made a couple of moves in hopes of solidifying their team for the playoff run. One of the players that they acquired was Mike Muscala. The trade for Muscala has been one that has been heavily criticized, as they had to part ways with Ivica Zubac in order to get him.

Zubac is a talented young center and became a fan-favorite for the Lakers. Also, considering the way that JaVale McGee and Tyson Chandler have played of late, Zubac might have been the best center on the roster.

Since joining the Lakers, Muscala hasn’t done much. In six games with the Lakers, Muscala is averaging just over 10 minutes per game. With not a lot of court time, Muscala’s numbers certainly aren’t impressive, as he is averaging just 3.7 points on 31 percent from the three-point line.

With Kuzma out, Muscala should certainly see his minutes increase. Since he has the ability to stretch the floor, he might be able to get some of the looks from deep that Kuzma gets during games. If Muscala doesn’t do anything of significance for the rest of the season, the Zubac trade will look like a really bad one.
