Rajon Rondo’s performance was awful on the floor and off

Check out this picture here. You see Gary Harris going for an easy lay-up. Look at the bottom of the picture. You see Rajon Rondo watching him go by. After this play, he was never seen on the floor again.

What this report should be talking about is tidbits about Rondo’s history. Things like not only did he assist LeBron is his record breaking moment, but he assisted Paul Pierce when he passed Larry Bird on the all-time list or he assisted Ray Allen when he passed Reggie Miller to break the all time 3 point record.

Instead it’s all about…Rondo being Rondo.

Rajon Rondo is a great basketball mind. He is a champion and he should have been one of the better decisions that Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka made in the offseason. Rondo just made his own NBA history by being one of only two players to notch a triple-double for five different teams one game prior. Who’s the other?

The guy lighting him up on camera, one of the rumored candidates for the NBA head coaching job, Mark Jackson. I wrote a piece about Rondo and how he could help this team in the locker room and be a leader for this team.

I gave him total credit for basically saving the Lakers season for the moment beating out the Celtics with a buzzer beater.

I am a Rajon Rondo fan. But looking back at things, Rondo is just as much to blame for this mess as anyone.

He gets into a fight with Chris Paul in the second game of the season that escalates into getting himself and Brandon Ingram suspended. Then after everyone lets it go and moves on, Rondo goes to the media and calls Paul a “horrible teammate”. Speaking of the media...how about the beef with Stephen A. Smith?

Starting to see a pattern? Bad attitude and a bunch of distractions. These incidents were widely panned by Lakers fans early in the season. What’s the big deal? They would say. I’m assuming those people will not be commenting now.

After the game, Rajon Rondo stated he had done this various times during the season and wondered why it’s a problem now?

"“I’ve done it like maybe eight, 10 times this year,” Rondo said. “I don’t know why it’s a big deal now.”"

Dude…remember this?

Maybe he wants a verse on the 2 Chainz album, maybe he’s mad he didn’t get a chain like LeBron. I have an idea, let’s call the next album “Empty Seats!” How about a Hip Hop remake of “One is the loneliest number”
