This LeBron James/Michael Jordan comparisons are getting out of hand

I am first to admit that I am not a fan of LeBron James’ work in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform this season. He has a lot to do with the mess that has gone on this season.

But to read some of these comparisons to Michael Jordan is cheapening possibly a once in a lifetime event in some fan’s lifetime. Do I think LeBron James is the best player of all-time?

No.

But I do know the sacrifice this man went through to get to this milestone. Most people who are making these dumb comments (There were plenty) just to downplay his achievements is really sad and juvenile.

There are so many NBA players that have cycled through the league over many eras. Like it or not there are only three players that have scored more than LeBron James. Celebrate greatness.

LeBron put the record in perspective while honoring Michael Jordan…

"“Of all the stuff I’ve done in my career, this ranks right up there at the top with winning a championship,” James said. “For a kid from Akron, Ohio, that needed inspiration and needed some type of positive influence, MJ was that guy for me. I watched him from afar, wanted to be like MJ, wanted to shoot fadeaways like MJ, wanted to stick my tongue out on dunks like MJ, wanted to wear my sneakers like MJ. I wanted kids to look up to me at some point like MJ and it’s just crazy, to be honest. It’s beyond crazy.”"

"“It was very emotional,” he said. “Very emotional. A lot of things that was going on inside of me at that point in time. I wanted to look up at the scoreboard to kind of see what was going on up there, but at the same time I didn’t want to show what was going on behind that towel, so it’s just crazy."

No one shows this type of emotion without sacrifice. He slacked off this year, but 16 years in the game of playing at the level he has under the scrutiny, that is a feat within itself.

Congratulations LeBron James from Lake Show Life!
