2. He has been performing at a high level as of late

Finally coming back to the states, a native of Queens, New York, Scottie signed with the South Bay Lakers in 2017. With South Bay, he started in 22 games of the 46 games he played in and averaged 15.9 points (shooting 45% overall from the field and 40.5% from three) and 8.7 assists.

After playing with the Brazilian national basketball team and competing in the 2019 Americas FIBA World Cup qualifiers, he played in The Basketball Tournament for Syracuse-heavy Team Fancy.

Machado came back to the South Bay Lakers for this season where he is averaging 15.9 points, 7.5 assists, 3.3 rebounds and one steal per game this season, mostly coming off the bench. But what stands out the most? He makes 89.5% of his free throws; the Lakers need that!

Recently against the Northern Arizona Suns, Machado scored 34 points, dished nine assists and grabbed four rebounds. But 34 is nothing. Last season, he scored 39 points against the same team.

In the first game of a two-game series against the Agua Caliente Clippers, Machado recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 assists, adding seven rebounds. He is always making his teammates better sharing the ball a ton.
