2. G League call-up
This is the option that may excite fans the most. The Lakers have done an excellent job of using their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, to help develop and prepare players for life with the NBA squad. South Bay has been eliminated from the G League playoffs, so the Lakers should look into bringing one of them onboard.
Andre Ingram is the first player that comes to mind. He made his much anticipated NBA debut last season and became an overnight sensation. His story is an incredible one, and his 3-point shooting would really help.
Travis Wear is someone that Lakers fans are familiar with, as he played in 17 games with the team last season. He could help fill in some minutes in the frontcourt. Veteran Spencer Hawes was recently added to the roster as well and could get called up as well to audition for an NBA spot.
Scott Machado is another logical choice. He has been playing steadily at the point guard spot all season, leading the team with 7.5 assists per game. Machado is also scoring 15.8 points per game, grabbing 3.4 rebounds and swiping one steal as well.
All of these players should be considered to fill the final roster spot that the Lakers have open.
