This statement from Luke Walton is why Lakers fans are so angry

After the game, Luke Walton made a statement that shows the issues of the Lakers season. He actually had to stress the blessing of playing in the NBA. Here’s what he had to say via NBA.com.

"“I’ve talked to the team about it a lot, as far as it being an honor and a privilege to play in this league, and we’re coaching in this league, for all of us,” Walton said. “This game of basketball has allowed us to have incredible opportunities in life. So, that’s been more the message to the group. “I’ve talked to Bron sporadically throughout the season. But the thing — he knows it. And I think he takes it very serious. He’s been the face of the NBA for however many years now. He’s aware of that, and I think he takes that responsibility, he takes it very seriously.”"

Hopefully the next coach of the Lakers will not have to give this speech. In this year of covering the Lakers, I’ve come to realize the passionate fans from the casuals. The diehards to the “LeBron” fans. To even hear a quote like this is totally unfair to the fans that supported the Lakers and come to the games for 41 games out of the year. These people deserve better and the entire franchise have a lot of work to do to improve the culture of the franchise.

The guys across the hall being the Clippers do not have this problem. If the Lakers don’t get it together and soon, the Clippers will have the Lakers season ticket holders going forward.

The Los Angeles Lakers are now closing their long journey through the NBA season. Lake Show Life will be there every step of the way. Continue to check in for Lakers news, previews and reviews.
