1. Missing the playoffs

The biggest disappointment of the season was the Lakers missing the playoffs for the sixth straight year. When the team acquired LeBron James, fans hoped that the team would make it back into the postseason where they have won 16 NBA Championships.

However, fate would not be on the Lakers side as injuries lead the team into the deep dark depths of the Western Conference standings in no-man’s land alongside forgotten and failed teams like the Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The worst part about the Lakers missing the playoffs is that we never got to see their full potential. In all fairness, the team was really good when Lonzo Ball and LeBron were both playing at the same time, and they were well on their way to the playoffs before the injuries.

To prove that they were good, consider the game against the Rockets a few days after LeBron returned in which the Lakers defeated one of the best teams in the league. The Lakers would have been peaking with Ball and James in the playoffs had it not been for injuries.

Missing the playoffs may have been disappointing, but this season was a major improvement compared to the previous ones. Although there were many low points, next year will be a redemption year for the Lakers, hopefully.
