Alex Caruso played hard…So did Johnathan Williams!

Luke Walton will not be the Los Angeles Lakers coach after the season and that is sad. Was he put behind the 8-ball? Sure. But it’s games like these he gives plenty of reason for getting fired.

We have discussed Rajon Rondo’s issues with competing on the defensive end. Now let’s talk about a player that does not have that problem in Alex Caruso.

Alex Caruso plays hard and the Lakers tend to play well as a team when he plays on the court. This has happened since he has cracked the rotation no matter how up and down his minutes are.

Alex Caruso scored 15 points, dished out seven assists and had two steals. Oh, by the way, he had this too.

He came through the lane and served up a facial to Steven Adams aka “Aquaman Pollard” according to the Shaquille O’Neal on TNT’s studio show.

This play made the game close as the Lakers cut it to five points before the Thunder took it over. Alex Caruso brings energy on both ends of the court. He moves his feet and he actually banged Westbrook to the point Russell’s hand was injured. I’m not saying that he needs to start but he needs the minutes Rondo is taking up playing matador defense.

Speaking of energy…

Johnathan Williams plays hard. That got him a total of eight minutes. He was so active the TNT Players Only crew mentioned how hard he was playing on the floor. JaVale McGee was getting beat down the floor for easy baskets and Moritz Wagner got in foul trouble. If there was a time to get Williams some time on the floor, this was it.

Finally, Kyle Kuzma will be evaluated and there is a strong possibility he will be shut down for the season.
