– Still have LeBron

One of the things that many people seem to be forgetting is that the Lakers still have a superstar on their roster in LeBron James. Unfortunately, James missed the most games he ever has in his career when he injured his groin on Christmas Day.

However, prior to the injury, James was playing at an MVP level for the Lakers. When James came back from the injury, he clearly wasn’t 100 percent, but he was still able to put up some impressive numbers on the offensive end. Although, he was noticeably not the same player on the defensive end.

As long as James is healthy next season, the Lakers will be a playoff team. A lot of the things that happened to the Lakers can be directly related to the injury to James. If James never gets hurt, the Lakers likely make the playoffs. If that happens, Walton and the Lakers certainly don’t part ways, and Johnson might not have stepped down as president of basketball operations.

For Vogel, he should be getting a healthy James to work with next season. If that’s the case, his first season in Los Angeles should be a successful one.
