It’s interesting to hear that Magic Johnson was not staying long in this part of the interview especially when it was mentioned in this article about a week ago. Johnson had dropped hints for almost a year that he was thinking about stepping down. These statements are very damning for Rob Pelinka. With the interview being done before the Frank Vogel press conference, it almost could be perceived as a plan. If you had a problem with someone, blasting them on one of the biggest shows on ESPN that was promoted for a week is a good way to do it.

Believe it or not, the real winner in this was Frank Vogel. You see with all of the drama of Magic Johnson’s interview, it took the attention away that he was 515th…I mean the Lakers choice to replace Luke Walton.
