Los Angeles Lakers draft steals: 19. Jordan Farmar

Jordan Farmar had two stints with the Los Angeles Lakers. His first stint after being drafted lasted four seasons and in those four seasons was part of two championship teams. He then went and played for the New Jersey Net, which included some stints in Europe, for two seasons before rejoining the Lakers for the 2013-14 season.

Farmar was never anything more than a bench point guard for the Lakers but he provided valuable rotation minutes and that cannot be discounted. Again — simply getting a rotation player this late in the NBA Draft is a win.

While Kyle Lowry was picked two picks before Farmar, those picked closely after him were not that great. The next pick that spent at least 10 years in the league was Steve Novak, who was picked with the 32nd overall pick and never spent more than two seasons with one team.

Farmar played 342 games for the Lakers and averaged 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists. His best season was the year in which he returned, as he averaged 10.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

He was a slightly above league average role player (as far as advanced metrics are concerned) that was picked with the 26th pick. Not the most exciting pick in the world, but a good one nonetheless.
