1. Iguodala is the type of player who bends to the system and will sacrifice
Andre came to the Warriors with plans on being a starter. But Steve Kerr had other things in mind for him. Kerr felt that if Iggy came off the bench, the team could win a whole lot more games. He convinced Andre to come off the bench, and he became one of the most famous sixth men in NBA History.
Part of the reason why Iggy may have listened to Kerr is that they both are alums and played at the University of Arizona. Kerr is a legend in Tucson and all players have high respect for each other. Both played for Wildcats head coach Lute Olson.
There were probably other factors, but the bottom line is that Iguodala is all about the team and God knows the Lakers need that type of player next season to win a Championship.
Andre just published his book, titled, what else, “Sixth Man” which just hit the New York Times bestsellers list. He has been promoting his book and getting out there so folks are getting to know him better.
He has had some interaction with the media, much like LeBron James. They both support the athlete and are outspoken on the matter involving the misuse of athletes who he feels get exploited. The two should get along well. That’s reason No. 4!
