Overall grade

When grading Muscala’s season I would have to grade on two different aspects. One of which is what they got out of Mike Muscala and also what they had to give to get him.

Muscala had some moments in Los Angeles where he proved to be what they were desiring, but ultimately this wasn’t a flashy move. I would give a D+ grade based on what he provided, as his offense and defense both graded out very poorly in his stay.

As far as what they gave up, the Lakers easily get an F for this trade, because Zubac has gone on to play decently with the Clippers and provides them with good scoring. He will play a vital role with them next season as they just landed Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

Zubac either could’ve been trade bait for a bigger fish or he could’ve been a good option for the Lakers going forward. Here is one of his last games with the Lakers and it begs the question what could’ve been.

Mike Muscala will try to find his touch again as he signed a deal with OKC who are now without Paul George and need consistent shooting, but his stay with Los Angeles proved to be anything but worth it.
