Durant To Brooklyn Ends Warriors Dominance:

After three seasons of complete domination in the Western Conference by the Golden State Warriors, teams finally gain hope. The powerhouse of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and the rest of the Warriors were too much to handle for the rest of the league.

The Warriors made it to the NBA Finals five seasons in a row. They also didn’t lose a Finals series since acquiring Kevin Durant until this season. The reason the Warriors couldn’t win it all this time around was a result of Kevin Durant only being capable of giving them thirteen minutes of game action in the Final series and Klay Thompson tearing his ACL in Game 6. This gave the Warriors no chance of winning the championship this season, interfering with a three-peat.

By losing Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson to career-threatening injuries, the Warriors’ future was immediately put into jeopardy. The team hoped they could still re-sign the two superstars, though. Despite the major injuries, the Warriors would still be in great shape to win multiple championships if Klay and KD could make full recoveries.

A healthy Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have proven to be unbeatable in this league. By Durant electing to leave the Warriors, that lineup no longer exists, which opens up an opportunity for the Lakers to once again take control of the NBA.
