4. Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors
For the last few seasons, this was one of the most anticipated matchups, whether it was the regular season or postseason. The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors were regarded as two of the best teams in the league, with the Rockets being considered the likeliest team to knock off the Warriors.
While the Rockets were never able to do that, this is a matchup that will have some appeal still this season. However, injuries will rob us from seeing the best of this matchup this early in the season, which is why it is so low on this list.
Russell Westbrook will be teaming up with James Harden for one of the most interesting backcourt pairings in the NBA. Unfortunately, they will only be going up against one splash brother in Stephen Curry, as Klay Thompson will still be recovering from his knee surgery.
Kevin Durant has also moved on, making this the Steph and Draymond Green show in Golden State, with D’Angelo Russell being their big acquisition this summer.
This will be a fun matchup between two of the many contenders in the Western Conference. However, it is a matchup that won’t reach its full potential for excitement until later in the season when both sides are healthy.
