2. Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz has been good for the last few seasons. Not contender good, but a team that most teams hate to face. They’ve been that star guy or really good player away from being a contender.
Well, this offseason they finally got their guy in Mike Conley, who can score and defend. It’s sort of an unwritten rule that you must defend to play in Utah. Last year, Conley averaged 21.1 points and 6.4 assists. He is a perfect fit next to Donovan Mitchell (23.8 ppg) who can score it with the best of them.
It didn’t stop there for the Jazz as they added Bojan Bogdanovic. This might be the most underrated signing of the offseason. Last season with a playoff Indiana Pacers squad he averaged 18 points on 43% from deep. He is a guy who can create some offense for himself and is a quality defender.
You add the trio of scoring of Mitchell, Conley, and Bogdanovic with Joe Ingles and Rudy Gobert and they should be elite. Jeff Green and Ed Davis will also bolster their bench.
All this means one thing; the Jazz has their best shot at a title run since the Karl Malone and John Stockton days.
