1. LeBronzo’s Triple Double vs Charlotte
This was a game that excited Lakers fans around the world because it was what many people were hoping was the start of a transcendent duo emerging in the NBA.
LeBron James and Lonzo Ball, two transcendent passers in their own right came together on this day to put together a performance like no other.
Both teammates scored a triple-double with Lonzo scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while his teammate racked up 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
They became the first pair of Laker teammates to each score a triple-double in a game since Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did so back in 1982.
For Lonzo Ball, it was his third career triple-double but for LeBron, it was triple-double number 75.
This was a game that made fans feel great about the Lakers playoffs hopes, but it also helped fans feel confident about the chemistry of two of the team’s leaders going forward.
There weren’t too many performances like these but overall we saw progress out of the Lakers young core and got a glimpse of what we can expect from a guy like LeBron going forward.
These were just a few highlights from what we can agree was a below-average season from the Lakers. Things didn’t go their way but thanks to Rob Pelinka, the Lakers seem to be trending in the right direction.
Only two of the players from this list managed to survive the Anthony Davis trade. Well wishes are extended to the players who were traded, but it is exciting to see what new performances the current players on the roster can create and hopefully I’ll have a much longer list for next season.
Maybe that list will include some playoff performances and even some NBA Finals performances.
Here’s hoping.
