The Pistons reign was very short, thanks to a guy that the Lakers let slip away!

The San Antonio Spurs in the Tim Duncan era was pretty good too. That’s why I really don’t believe that the Lakers would have come up with the 12 rings Kobe Bryant speaks of.

Remember the Spurs tallied up five championships in the Duncan era. Plus they had a pretty good bench. Does anybody remember Robert Horry? The guy the Lakers let go?

Well, the man didn’t stop winning titles after leaving L.A.

I know Larry Brown told Rasheed Wallace not to leave Horry. “Big Shot Bob” went on to win two more titles with the Spurs to finish with seven rings for his career.

The Spurs were always a contender with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili maturing into the icons that they would become and Duncan being the superstar. If it wasn’t for Fisher’s aforementioned buzzer-beater in 2004, the Lakers may have not had a chance to crumble in the Finals against Detroit.
