The time you read this backstory on Andrew Bogut will last longer than Bogut’s time playing along LeBron James!

56 seconds. Less than one minute. High school sweethearts take more time getting off the telephone than the time Andrew Bogut spent playing alongside LeBron James.

The Australian center who arrived in the NBA by way of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 draft was brought in to be a big body to compete against the Golden State Warriors. Since he was a part of the 2015 Warriors team that won it all, consider it the reverse Anderson Varejao scenario when he left the Cavs for the Warriors.

After joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017, Bogut, unfortunately, broke his leg 56 seconds into his first game playing the Miami Heat. Looking at the play it looked like a freak accident. After the game, LeBron James said he heard a crack as it happened. The Cavaliers waived him soon afterward.

Bogut moved on to play with the Lakers for a season before going back to Australia to play overseas. Low and behold, the Warriors brought him back at the end of the regular season last year for a postseason run.

Enough about the past, let’s talk about the present.
