1.) LeBron James
It really is a good problem to have when it comes to deciding who is the better player on your roster; LeBron James or Anthony Davis? Rest assured, it was difficult to decide who took the coveted number one spot on this Lakers team, and while Davis may be the more dominant force, there are certain intangibles that LeBron, even at the age of 35, brings to the team.
It is still undoubtedly LeBron James’ team regardless of what the team would have you believe. He will still be the linchpin of this Lakers offense, and its leader both on and off the court. In what many considered to be a ‘down’ year, LeBron still put averaged 28/8/8 en route to an All-NBA Third Team selection.
Aside from his obvious scoring talent, LeBron has the ability to make the players around him better in a way that Davis — at this point in his career — is simply not capable of doing. Even if Davis is the better player, you still want the offense to run through LeBron, and this will be even more amplified if the team decides to go all in on the ‘LeBron at PG’ experiment.
With a full offseason of rest, as well as a roster that is better suited to maximize LeBron’s offensive talents, I fully expect The King to come back with a vengeance and establish himself as not only the best player on the Lakers, but the best player in the league.
