– Zach Norvell Jr. shines

In the win over the Warriors, it was very clear that Zach Norvell Jr. was looking to impress. While Norvell might not see a lot of time with the Lakers this season, he is looking like he could be a key piece of the South Bay Lakers.

Over the past few seasons, we have seen the Lakers really develop talent nicely in South Bay, and Norvell will be a player to keep an eye on. As we have seen recently from Alex Caruso, playing well in South Bay will eventually lead to a chance with the Lakers.

Against the Warriors, Norvell Jr. totaled 22 points on 6-for-13 shooting, which included going 3-for-8 from three-point range.

There are a lot of things to like about Norvell’s game and we will have to wait and see how he continues to develop. This was certainly a great audition for him at the Staples Center on Monday night, as he might be the best player on South Bay heading into the season.

Since the Lakers did trade most of their young core, seeing a young player like Norvell showing promise is very encouraging. Hopefully, he will continue to grow in the G-League, as he certainly opened some eyes against the Warriors.
