2. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Danny Green, Quinn Cook, Troy Daniels

Granted, this is not a lineup that I would expect to see often, but this is most likely the team’s best shooting lineup. Defenders will be required to stay disciplined in their rotations, as Green, Cook and Daniels can all light it up from deep. Mix in one of the greatest passers in NBA history in LeBron James and the combination could be deadly.

Ball movement will need to be present for this lineup to work, as they will need to be capable of swinging the ball around the perimeter to find the open guy. Without crisp and speedy passes, LeBron James will be required to do more than should be expected. LeBron would be the only true playmaker in this group, which could present issues if left on the court too long.

One of the biggest benefits of having multiple perimeter shooters on the floor at the same time is the potential for offensive rebounds. Anthony Davis, one of the best offensive rebounders in the league, should be able to thrive in a situation like this. He could use his height and athleticism to outwork the opposing bigs to the ball in order to give the Lakers second-chance opportunities.

In order for a lineup such as this to succeed, Quinn Cook and Troy Daniels will need to be able to stay in front of their guys defensively. Although neither is known to be a lock-down defender, both are quick on their feet.

Having Davis in the paint will help their cause to an extent, but may put the team out of position, potentially taking away their rebounding strengths. Regardless, this will be a lineup that could thrive in small doses against certain lineups.
