Los Angeles Lakers: Ranking the 10 best jerseys of all time
By Ethan Temkin
10. Christmas Day (2015)
Even though these jerseys were just a one-off, made specifically for the Christmas Day games, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t deserve a spot in this ranking. For the most part, the Lakers have defied convention by foregoing a white uniform to their repertoire, with the exception of their ‘Sunday Whites’.
But for the holidays, the Lakers knocked it out of the park with the jerseys they wore for their 2015 Christmas Day game against the cross-town rival LA Clippers. These jerseys had the perfect combination of Laker flair and Christmas spirit and were a huge upgrade from the previous year’s ‘pajama’ look.
Both the way ‘Lakers’ is written out in a delightfully ‘Christmas sweater’ style font and the slightly bendy way the player numbers are displayed make this a unique jersey that Adidas couldn’t help but replicate the following season.
Jerseys like these make it a shame that Nike has decided not to use festive-themed jerseys for their Christmas Day games, but here’s hoping they change their minds on that.
