5. Jerryd Bayless

The first option on the list is journeyman Jerryd Bayless, who most recently played with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2018-2019 season, where he averaged 6.1 points, and 3.5 assists in 34 games played. As of right now, you can find Bayless playing overseas in the Chinese Basketball Association for the Sichuan Blue Whales.

While Bayless is far from perfect, as his injury history and defensive issues are real concerns, he is still a veteran point guard who has played with elite big men in the past such as Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns. Anthony Davis should be no exception for Bayless, who can instantly come in and provide the team with playmaking.

Yes, his defense is a real concern, but Danny Green and Avery Bradley should help mitigate any concerns on that end. In terms of offense, Bayless is a career 36.1% from 3-point range and should have no problems knocking down the open shot when given the opportunity.

Bayless isn’t the perfect choice but is still an interesting candidate to consider given how thin the current crop of free-agent point guards are.
