– Kuzma knocks some rust off
After missing training camp and the preseason, Kyle Kuzma is going to be rusty for a little while. Before the game, the Lakers announced that his minutes restriction would go up a bit. This is certainly a good indication that Kuzma is getting healthier, but he still needs to see game action.
Against the Bulls, there were some head-scratching moments for Kuzma, but you were able to see him knocking some of the rust off as the game went on. With both LeBron James and Anthony Davis sitting on the bench at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth, Kuzma was the man that helped start the comeback.
Seeing Kuzma as the primary option for the Lakers on offense is something that we all believed we would see with him coming off the bench. Seemingly the more action he saw, the better he played.
In the win, Kuzma totaled 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field in 21 minutes. With this being Kuzma’s third game back, it was the best that he shot from the field and the most points that he scored in a game. It was certainly encouraging to see the strides that Kuzma made in this game. In a couple of weeks, he will be ready to really have an impact for the Lakers.
