For Anthony Davis, it was just one of those nights. He was sub par all night long.

Anthony Davis probably can chalk this up to being distracted. Playing in front of friends and family. Probably trying too hard trying to impress. Possibly he was distracted by a statement that made shook the NBA World.

Hopefully, this will serve as a learning lesson to Anthony Davis. Now that he is in Los Angeles playing on the premiere franchise (Lakers) next to the face of the NBA (LeBron James), an incident like this can easily be blown out of proportion. It’s an unwanted distraction.

It seemed like Anthony Davis couldn’t get on track as he missed six of his first seven shots. Then foul trouble kept Davis out of the flow for most of the game. He still finished the game with 15 points, seven rebounds (three offensive!) with three assists and three blocks.

Even in a game below AD’s standards, he was around long enough to send the Bulls packing at the end. He knocked down a 3-point shot in the left corner to give LeBron his 10th assist to get him his triple-double and the next time down, the Bulls got a close up look at the LeBron/AD pick and roll. They can’t stop it either.

Anthony Davis’ performance in this game shows how loaded this Lakers team is. The next few lessons will illustrate the players that stepped up during the game to fill in the gaps.

Let’s start with his frontcourt partners who basically intimidated Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. to ineffectiveness.
