9. Damian Lillard
Damian Lillard was incredible during all of last season and excelled when the postseason came around. He executed a fourth regular season in a row of averaging over 25 points per game and led his Portland Trailblazers to the number three seed in a highly competitive Western Conference.
Lillard consistently hangs around the top five in the NBA in scoring and 3-pointers year in and year out. That statistic alone goes to show Lillard’s consistent offensive dominance.
Lillard may feel like he’d be getting snubbed again though by finishing just 9th on this list, but it is indeed the proper spot for Lillard to land. In fact, he’ll likely remain near 9th or 9th itself on this list for the foreseeable future.
Although Lillard is an incredible offensive talent and true closer, his lack of height limits how dominant he can be. He’s satisfactory on defense and because of his limitation to dominate both ends of the floor, his offensive talent can only go so far.
That being said, Lillard is a tenacious point guard who doesn’t blink in crucial situations. He’s a player that any team would be extremely lucky to have, but he doesn’t make it further on this list.
