7. Joel Embiid

The monster in Philidelphia gets the honor of surpassing some incredible talent in the top 10 despite his injury concerns. Joel Embiid averaged over 27 points and 13 rebounds while swatting nearly two shots per game last season.

Joel Embiid spent the first two seasons of his NBA career on the sidelines but it wasn’t long after that he’d establish himself as a top big man in the league. But injuries to Embiid haven’t stopped, unfortunately.

Embiid played just 64 regular-season games and then missed a handful more during the playoffs last season. It’s concerning to see a 25-year-old miss so many games this early in his NBA career, but not surprising. Anthony Davis, another big and athletic superstar big man, didn’t play in over 70 games in a season until his fifth year in the league.

Embiid’s injury concerns are legitimate and unfortunately, out of his control. That being said, he’s capable of taking over a single game anytime and may be able to take over the entire league sooner rather than later.

When Embiid is on the court, no big man in the league seems capable of stopping him. Embiid is the epitome of a dominant NBA superstar, making him the league’s seventh-best player.
