Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Lessons learned from Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks sweep
By Ronald Agers
LeBron James may have taken over as the “Best Player in the World”!
Lake Show Life was all over LeBron James last year when he didn’t live up to the hype that fans and media gave him calling him the number one player in the world.
Well, LeBron James is now. What’s bad for the NBA, LeBron James is in a zone right now. Over the weekend, he basically did anything he wanted to the Sacramento Kings and the Atlanta Hawks. It all started right here.
If you are a Sacramento Kings fan, close your eyes. It’s going to be ugly.
LeBron James dunked on Nemanja Bjelica so hard, the Kings probably was playing 911 by Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige in the locker room after the game. LeBron James showed out in this game scoring 29 points and dishing out 11 assists to match his league-leading average. But it was more than that.
LeBron scored his points in crunch time when the Lakers needed it. It seemed that the game slowed down for LeBron as he knew exactly what the Kings were going to do.
If they doubled he passed it quickly to his teammates. If the double team didn’t come (Luke Walton being Luke Walton!) he basically destroyed every player in front of him. After dropping a 3-point shot in Dwayne Dedmon’s face, he danced and skipped back down the floor.
Against the Hawks, LeBron James let the NBA world that he was in a zone. A zone that rivals his last playoff run with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The game was totally dictated by LeBron. When he was on the floor, the Lakers blew the Hawks halfway back to the East Coast. When he sat down, the Hawks could function. When he came back to the hardwood, the Hawks couldn’t deal with the onslaught.
LeBron put on a show in the second half with 3 point shots from everywhere as he finished with 33 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds. He knocked down a season-high six 3-point shots and had zero turnovers.
He is being a leader and boy has it helped this guy out.
