– Two superstars

One of the main reasons for the hot start for the Lakers has been their two superstars. Despite dealing with some injuries to their supporting cast, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both been excellent for the team so far this season.

When the Lakers made the deal to acquire Davis, there was a lot of excitement for what he and James could be together. LeBron is easily the best player that Davis has ever played with, and Davis is right up there as one of the best that James has played with.

So far this season, James is averaging 25.0 points, 11.1 assists, and 7.9 rebounds per game. James has really embraced being a facilitator for the Lakers, as the 11.1 assists per game are currently the highest we have seen from him in his career. James has been a walking triple-double this season, and his effort on the defensive end of the court has been much better this season.

As for Davis, he is also playing very well. In 14 games, Davis is averaging 25.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3.1 blocks per game. Davis has been proving that he is one of the best two-way players in the NBA, as he could very well find himself in the running for the Defensive Player of the Year award.

With two superstars on the roster, the Lakers are going to be a threat to any team in the league for the rest of the season.
