LeBron James criticized for being a good teammate. Jealousy in the NBA?
By Ronald Agers
LeBron James bullied Kent Bazemore on the blocks for a lay-up, talks trash then the narrative from Utah is back.
On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers completed their three-game road trip in Portland. The game had many storylines led by the Carmelo Anthony/LeBron James duel. What got lost was the duel going on between LeBron and Kent Bazemore.
On the block, LeBron received a pass from Anthony Davis. LeBron put Bazemore on his hip and carried him to the weight room while laying the ball up for the basket and the foul.
Words were exchanged between the two players as LeBron called Bazemore a name that should not be included in this article. It got that intense.
Now watch Kent Bazemore’s reaction when LeBron celebrates AD’s 3-point shot with the possibility to get one more at the line.
There’s nothing in the world more frustrating to a basketball player than to talk trash to an opposing player when you have no chance of winning the game. It was at this point when the Lakers effectively ended the chances for Portland.
The Blazers gave up 77 points in the first half buoyed by AD’s 25 points in the half. LeBron finished with 14 points by halftime but showed out in the second half to finish with 31 points.
See the frustration here? Bazemore knows that there is little to be done to stop a focused Lakers team with two superstars engaged. He has the same feeling of frustration as the Jazz announcers.
Could it be the polarization of the most iconic player of the generation resurrecting a historical franchise back to dominance? All while playing to the crowd at the same time?
Remember in the Utah game, LeBron gave children his sneakers. In this game, he knocked over one of the workers and made sure she was okay.
You know what they say. Sometimes popularity breeds content.
Believe it or not, there is a market for LeBron James bashing for things that makes absolutely no sense. Remember the excited father thing?
