Rajon Rondo was actually okay in this game. Sadly, Los Angeles Lakers fans will grill him for the next 48 hours.

Rajon Rondo’s game is almost like a sports car in a used car lot. It’s shiny and will make you look good on the road. Then there are the hidden costs from the oil leaks, transmission and the old engine that burns up gas and a hole in your wallet.

He’s an acquired taste and you have to take his game “As-is”.

Rajon Rondo actually played okay in this game. He scored seven points and had seven assists. But there are just holes in his game that drive Lakers fans nuts. Now he’ll make the highlight reel.

He’ll knock down a 3-pointer and give a high-five to his son. That’s no problem (The writer does it all the time on the courts!) but that was one of only two shots he hit out of nine attempts.

He’ll hit JaVale McGee with pinpoint passes that will definitely make SportsCenter.

But Rajon Rondo has not followed LeBron James lead this year in doing the little things to help his team win. Lake Show Life used to criticize LeBron after seemingly every game about making highlights and not doing things that matter when playing winning basketball. LeBron changed his mentality.

Rajon Rondo has not.

As for the last play, the Lakers did have ten seconds to get the last shot. Rondo could have pushed the pace quicker. Was LeBron James open? It is hard to say at the moment as his defender was close and KCP was in the way of the passing lane. Rondo talked about the play after the game via ESPN.

"“We wanted to get LeBron coming off a pin down from Dwight and we didn’t execute the play very well,” Rondo said when asked about his 29-footer in the waning seconds. “I got a look that I wanted, it just went in and out.”"

But to be clear, this did not lose the game for the Lakers. But Rondo does at the time look like he’s playing for the highlight reel as opposed to the mindset of the superstars that wants a ring.

Speaking of a superstar.
