4. Anthony Davis
Could it really be possible that all of Lakers Nation had underestimated just how good Anthony Davis was? The entire world was aware that Anthony Davis was one of the 10 best players on the planet when he was the face of the New Orleans Pelicans, but it seems as if The Brow may have turned his game up a notch.
Not only is Davis the sixth highest scorer in the NBA at 27.4 points per game, but he is also second in blocks at 2.64 per game. Coming into the season, Anthony Davis, along with the rest of his Lakers teammates, had given himself the challenge of being Defensive Player of the Year. After the first trimester it appears he may be well on his way there.
So far this season, anything that the Lakers have needed from Davis they have gotten. In most games, Anthony Davis makes it evident that he is the most dominant player on the floor. He is able to out-jump all other players on the court for a rebound or a loose ball, as well as soar above them for a put-back dunk off of a miss.
On the defensive side of the ball the Lakers have looked for Davis to lock down on the opposing team, as he has had numerous clutch blocks and steals.
