Keep up the elite wing defense
Avery Bradley is a very good defender. He has one All-Defensive first-team selection in 2016 and one All-Defensive second-team selection in 2013 on his resume. His pedigree is defense and it had shown in his time in the NBA.
Bradley has been very good defensively this season when on the court. That’s the issue, though, is he hasn’t been on the court often. According to advanced stats, Bradley boasts a 100.8 defensive rating but has only played 15 games.
He has battled injuries a lot in his career, but whenever he is on the floor he has been very effective. He needs to continue doing that in Los Angeles and find a way to stay on the court. Dressed in a suit on the sidelines isn’t helping stop teams.
With Bradley on the floor, it helps ease the pressure off LeBron to guard some younger guys. Because preserving Bron’s stamina and health will go a long way in the Lakers’ dreams of winning a championship.
Bradley has shown he has all the tools to be a lockdown defender. He has done it in the NBA on multiple occasions. If he can stay healthy, his contributions to this team will go far past the box scores each night.
