A clean bill of health

Anthony Davis is a superstar in this league, he has been for a while. He has proved he is one of the best isolation players of all-time and continues to expand his offensive game. He seems as motivated as ever to finally play for a contender.

With that being said, there’s always been one thing that holds Davis back and that is the dreaded injury bug. Every year he suffers an injury, it becomes more of a “when” rather then an “if” at this point.

He has battled ankle and shoulder injuries this year and has never suited up for more than 75 games in a season. The Lakers will have to monitor him throughout the year and see how he holds up. Depending on seeding he could be a good candidate for load management later in the year.

When healthy he’s been as good as ever this year. Averaging 27.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.5 steals per night, he fills the stat sheet. He is on pace to be a DPOY and MVP finalist with the way he is playing.

It all starts and ends with health. If AD can stay on the floor the Lakers are as good as anyone in the league. If he sits out the Lakers will have their struggling moments.
