Relish opportunities in the G League

Talen Horton-Tucker was the 46th pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2019 NBA draft. The Lakers made a draft-night trade to acquire his rights for a future pick and cash considerations. His draft stock was all over the place from the first round to undrafted.

He has a lot of talent. He showed it at Iowa State and he has shown it in the G League this season. He needs to continue displaying growth in his game so that he can build on the future that he has with the Lakers.

The Lakers are very high on him and he is apart of their future, so he is getting every opportunity to play in the G League. He needs minutes somewhere and that is the most logical for him to get them. He is considered a project and the Lakers don’t have enough minutes on the wings right now to warrant much playing time.

Each game in the G League he needs to keep expanding his game and working on something new. His time will come in the future and this G League stint will prove very beneficial to that.
