Los Angeles Lakers: Five things on the team’s Christmas wish list

4.) Anthony Davis announces he’s re-signing with the Lakers
Anthony Davis’ free agency is something that is looming over a Lakers franchise that gave up the farm to acquire to him.
Every time he’s been asked about free agency this season, he has responded with the same answer, “we’ll see what happens”.
There shouldn’t be too much reason to worry about Davis bolting, as everything he has done prior to being traded indicates his intention to stay long-term.
He specifically requested to only be traded to the Lakers, communicating that he would not re-sign with any other team other than the Knicks. In addition, his agent Rich Paul just happens to be best friends with the other Lakers star. LeBron James.
But something that would be great news for the Los Angeles Lakers franchise would be Davis announcing his intentions to re-sign long term with the team. Not only would this put Laker fans at ease, but it will also allow the front office to continue building on a team whose two star players are signed long-term.
So while highly unlikely to happen anytime soon, it would still be nice to wake up Christmas morning to an Adrian Wojnarowski tweet saying Davis is signing a long-term extension.
