Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Lessons from the win over Thunder
By Ronald Agers
The “Cable Guys” Quinn Cook and Troy Daniels came in and shot the lights out!
There’s a running joke in these post game reports that Quinn Cook and Troy Daniels are so far down on the Lakers bench they have to watch the games on Spectrum SportsNet. But it’s nights like these its evident that Jared Dudley is in their ears telling them to stay ready. Both of them got minutes in this game and they came out firing.
Both combined to score 25 points off the bench and dropped four 3-point shots. Troy Daniels came in the game with an attitude because he was pulling shots from 30 feet and hitting them. Quinn Cook was active in his back up role at the point making plays for his teammates while hitting timely shots.
These two guys deserve a ton of credit for their performances. If you think Kuzma is having issues with these rumors, think about what these two have to deal with. In any deal whether it be a trade or a Darren Collison signing, both of these guys are gone. Kuzma will probably be on the roster at the end of the season. These two might not.
But it’s was not just those two putting up numbers off the bench. The Lakers continued their strong bench play for the second straight night scoring 48 points. What was a definite issue for the Lakers in 2019 is being cleaned up as of late.
They are starting to do the little things that don’t show up in the box scores. They can set picks to free up the offense as Jared Dudley does here.

Plus they all support each other when someone succeeds. After Steven Adams smiles for the camera and says cheese here after JaVale McGee serves this facial, watch how the bench reacts.

For this weekend, the bench silenced critics about keeping things together without LeBron or AD on the floor. If Rajon Rondo stays efficient like he was in this game, this trend will continue.
This is why the Los Angeles Lakers are sitting at 32-7. last year when trade rumors surrounded this team, the locker room separated. This year, the team is not only sticking together, but getting stronger by each game.
The Los Angeles Lakers play Cleveland on Monday. Lake Show Life will have the full post game report.
