Yes. Alex Caruso is a star for the Los Angeles Lakers in the role he is supposed to play.
Alex Caruso is unfairly criticized at times for a couple of things. One, he plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Two, he plays with one of the most famous players in NBA history in LeBron James.
Alex Caruso’s production has dropped this season for a reason. The Lakers have two superstars with a ton of veterans. They don’t NEED the numbers he put up last year. The fact that he was leading a bunch of G Leaguers last year to an above .500 record in 15 games should tell you this guy can play.
Alex Caruso has been a star by providing energy and playing a solid floor game for the Los Angeles Lakers. It took a while for Frank Vogel to figure it out (Remember, he didn’t play opening night!), but Caruso always seems to affect games in the second half with timely defense and scrappy play.
Let’s use the Cleveland game for example. In 23 minutes, Caruso scored 10 points and dished out six assists.
He has been the most consistent playmaker off the bench taking LeBron James off-ball. He has the ability to run the halfcourt offense and get players off early.

Remember the Lakers just lost to the Orlando Magic the other night right? Caruso barely played being the concussion protocol program. The team missed the intangibles he provides.
Finally, to the readers of Lake Show Life.
This article was requested by one of the regulars. A Lake Show Life writer wrote a piece about Caruso the way he saw it. Guess what? He wasn’t wrong. Why? Because it is his opinion. Would it surprise you that there are a ton of NBA fans that actually AGREE with the narrative?
The point is there are many facets to Alex Caruso that goes past statistics. People that are familiar with my writing know that the eye test and a lot of game-watching goes into these articles. That and a lot of research.
Because if you look up the stats of Pat Connaughton of the Milwaukee Bucks, he has basically the same numbers in the same role as the number one seed of the Eastern Conference.
Oh, and that dude can jump out of the gym too. What’s the difference? He plays in the midwest while Alex Caruso plays in one of the biggest markets in the NBA on an iconic team that oozes exposure.
Just keep that in mind.
