The Los Angeles Lakers played similar to opening night. Started out strong and when the opponent didn’t fold, they did.

On opening night, the Lakers jumped all over the Clippers. For a moment it looked like it would be a blowout. The Clippers withstood the huge run at the beginning and overtook the Lakers at the end. The Boston Celtics didn’t wait until halftime to put the Lakers away.

To put this in perspective, the Lakers started the game scoring in less than 5 seconds.

It’s a beautiful play by design. One tip to Anthony Davis, a flip to LeBron and by the time he receives the ball, Danny Green picks off Daniel Theis to open the alley oop for JaVale.

How many fans thought the game was over when Danny Green knocked down a 3-point shot and got a trip to the free throw line? On the strength of these two plays, the Lakers rolled out to a 8-0 lead. With the problems (They had just lost to the Phoenix Suns!) the Celtics had coming into this game with injuries to Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker, the Los Angeles Lakers let off the gas.

Lake Show Life had concerns after the Knicks game that upper level NBA teams did not see the Los Angeles Lakers as tough. Many teams around the NBA are intimidated of the Lakers. Maybe six or seven are not. If the Lakers continue to show that they can fold if teams withstand their early barrage, this will be a major problem deep in the postseason.
