LeBron James did not play well. Any comments about watching his son play will be rebuffed by this Lake Show Life writer.

There will be plenty of media outlets blaming LeBron James for traveling to see his son play a high school game earlier in the game. Lake Show Life is not one of them. If you are one of those people. You really need to stop. James decided to take a 90-mile commute across the state in a helicopter to Springfield.

LeBron’s thoughts via ESPN.

"“My routine was broken today, but I could care less about it if I was seeing my family,” he said. “It was a unique opportunity to see my son, live, play that close to where I’m at. So I could care less about all that. It’s all secondary when it comes to my family.”"

Well said LeBron. Let’s move on.

LeBron James had his moments in the first half setting up his teammates while finding the balance scoring for himself.

The second half, well he shut it down as well. James finished the game with 15 points and 13 assists. Again the box score and stats don’t tell the story.

This was a different LeBron James from the other games this season. In the second half, he showed with his body language that he had given up. Leaders are supposed to fight to the end. Up until this game, LeBron was that leader. This can’t happen too many nights. AD is the talent, but LeBron has to set the tone. He didn’t.

A special Lake Show Life shout to JaVale McGee. This dude plays hard every night he’s on the floor. Does he make mistakes at times? Sure. But it’s not for the lack of effort.  McGee scored 18 points (7-of-9 shooting!), grabbed 5 rebounds and blocked 3 shots in 18 minutes. Folks that’s ridiculous.

Finally on a very serious note.

To anyone that is reading this, would you please send a prayer out for Delonte West, a former teammate of LeBron James in Cleveland. Someone jumped him and beat him up on a highway in Washington D.C. Even more shocking, West was in handcuffs afterwards.

West has been suffering from mental illness all of his life. He has taken a turn for the worst. Kevin Love, DeMar DeRozan and even Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as mentioned their struggles with anxiety and how it affects their lives.

What is happening to Delonte is not funny and should not be looked at as a joke.

The Los Angeles Lakers play a back to back starting Wednesday against New York. Brooklyn on Thursday. Lake Show Life will have the post game reports.
