Congratulations to LeBron James from Lake Show Life! We are proud of your accomplishments. Now we have a job to do!
Look we all know what this game was all about for the LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. It was about James passing the great Kobe Bryant for 3rd on the all-time NBA scoring list.
This is a Los Angeles Lakers blog website so we join in with the congratulatory wishes for one of the all-time greats.
LeBron James will go down as one of the greatest players of all time. There’s no doubt about that. This game will go down in history as one of those game where fans ask where they were when this event happened.
But to be honest, LeBron James did not play well in this game. To take things further, LeBron James showed a lot of the bad habits he displayed with his body language and his bad defense. Oh it was bad.
Let’s take care of the box score for the LeBron stans out there. At first glance, it looks very good. He finished with 29 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. But now let’s take a closer look.
He turned the ball over eight times which is bad even for Rajon Rondo. Plus he had a number of defensive breakdowns. Like they say, film don’t lie. Examples are in the colored. Click and enjoy.
- LeBron James opened the game up missing a defensive rebound which led to a Tobias harris 3 point shot.
- He left Dwight Howard high and dry with no defensive rotation when Ben Simmons was running the fast break. For the LeBron apologists, there is no way Dwight Howard can stop Ben Simmons on the fast break. Stop it.
- He sat by and watched Al Horford turn Jared Dudley into buzzard meat in the post instead of doubling the post. Jared Dudley is willing but stopping Al Horford one on one? Umm… no.
Then there was this.
Sure there is a comment section below that may be filled with the term “hater”. Okay, that’s cool. But Frank Vogel is a defensive coach that probably hates looking at four egregious defensive lapses by one of his superstars.
This is not going to fly on Tuesday. It’s defensive plays like these that have most NBA experts giving the Los Angeles Clippers the edge head to head in the playoffs. Sure the superstars will cancel each other out offensively. But what about defense.
AD played good defense on Saturday night. LeBron did not.
Speaking of defense, the Lakers are having issues with their 3-point defense overall. It could be overlooked that the Brooklyn Nets hit 21 shots from the land of the extra point because the Lakers hit 19 the other night.
It becomes a problem when the Sixers drop 13 shots from distance, while the Lakers struggled with six. Most of this comes when Rajon Rondo is on the floor, but why beat a dead horse at this point. The bottom line is, the Lakers had better clean up this problem up in the next couple of days.
The Los Angeles Lakers face a must-win on Tuesday against the Clippers. Another loss means they lose the season series. That means the Clippers own the tiebreaker. Lake Show Life will have complete coverage.
