Los Angeles Lakers fans. Let Lake Show Life introduce you to the best player in the NBA right now!

It is easy to be shocked at the statement above based on all that has happened, but yes Lakers fans, Damian Lillard for right now is the best player in the NBA.

The man in a complete zone. He is unconscious. He is having an out-of-body experience. To any basketball player that has been blessed to be in a rhythm Lillard is in now, understands. This does not happen every day. Coming into the game, he was a threat. Here’s his streak for the record coming into this one.

  • Last 10 games:
  • Damian Lillard is averaging 36 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds. Okay, this is for a 10-game stretch, let’s lay out what he has done recently. Based on some of these performances, you might be wondering if Logo Lillard was off based on all of the emotions of the night.
  • Against Golden State:
  • Damian Lillard dropped 61 points on a nationally televised game on TNT. He is on a shortlist of players in NBA history that have multiple 60 point games in his career. Yep, Kobe Bryant is on that list. He also found time to have 10 rebounds and seven assists. Also, he hit a huge 3-pointer to send it into overtime.
  • Against the Dallas Mavericks:
  • Lillard dropped 47 points, eight assists and six rebounds in a loss. It was the only loss in this hot streak of Damian Lillard. At this point, he is basically carrying the franchise on his back.
  • Against the Indiana Pacers:
  • Here’s where everything gets lost. This was the night of the tragedy. Lillard laid a 50 point whipping on the Pacers with 13 assists and six rebounds. He shot 66% from 3-point land and 60% overall from the field.
  • Against the Houston Rockets:
  • Damian Lillard had never gotten a triple-double in his career coming into the game. Oh well, check that off the list. He had a 36 point, 11 assist, 10 rebound game. Was he coming back down to Earth?

Umm no. Let’s just get to the 3rd quarter. That was the story of the night.

After Lillard received a technical foul, it was over. He had the Staples Center in awe with his shooting display finishing with one rebound shy of his second triple-double in a row.

The numbers added up to 48 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. It’s the highest scoring total in his career against the Lakers. This is what happened after he received the technical foul.

Lillard now has 40 3-point shots in the last five games, an NBA record. He is the main reason the Lakers lost this game. Nobody can stop this guy right now. The Lakers have issues with their perimeter defense, but Lillard is going on stretch not seen since well the man who was honored before the game, Kobe Bryant.

Game recognizes game. Kobe warned the NBA world when Damian Lillard went off on L.A. in the past how good he was. Damian spoke his words into existence in this game.
