1. Experience

Waiters has experience playing in big games. Something the Lakers could possibly be doing in two months if all goes well. As the Lakers have championship or bust aspirations this year with the Bron and AD duo.

Waiters played in some big games with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Most notably the 2015-16 Thunder team that was minutes away from heading to the NBA Finals. A Thunder team that bullied the 73-9 Warriors for a majority of the Western Conference Finals.

Never known as an elite shooter, he shot 37.5 percent from 3-pointer in those playoffs. That only trailed Serge Ibaka at 44.9 percent. He showed that he has the ability to knock down shots in key situations.

The Lakers will need that come April as they start their quest for a championship. They will most likely be equipped with the number one seed and will lock up homecourt advantage. So they need all hands on deck to put all this together and go out to win a title.

Waiters is a risk, but one that is worth taking. He can provide so much when his mind is on the game. This Lakers team could use his play off of the bench and he could ignite their play.
