Based on this game, it makes you wonder if Rajon Rondo read yesterday’s featured article!
If you are a follower of Lake Show Life, you probably know that Rajon Rondo has been heavily criticized for his play this season. A Saturday article was posted about the numerous ways he will negatively affect the Los Angeles Lakers’ chances of going to the Finals.
There are two strong debates that have gone on throughout the season. The performance of Kyle Kuzma and Rajon Rondo. Collectively, there is another debate going on if the two players’ struggles are because of one or the other.
The unsung heroes in this game were the bench unit. The Lakers outscored the Celtics by an absurd amount of 43-11. Who led the brigade? You guessed it. Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma. Let’s give them equal shine here.
Rajon Rondo:
For the record, the same writer who is doing this post-game report wrote the feature (He still stands by it!). Whether the reason was he was playing Boston, KG was in the crowd, it was his birthday or maybe he did read the piece, Rondo played his best defensive game in a Laker uniform.
Sure he only scored four points, but he had five steals in the game and five assists including this one.
Rajon Rondo had a plus/minus of +13, which has been unheard of for weeks. He played with energy, dove on the floor and made crisp passes on target for his teammates to score easy baskets. can we see this in a game besides Boston though?
Kyle Kuzma:
Kyle Kuzma got off to a strong start with the help of Rajon Rondo. Go figure. Kuz scored 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting in 27 minutes. He led the team with a plus/minus of+17. He added four rebounds (one offensive!) and this block on Jayson Tatum.
Kuzma, just like Rajon Rondo came out with energy and played hard on both ends of the floor. It was the best collaboration between the two since the Oklahoma City game when both LeBron and AD was out.
The New Orleans Pelicans come to town on Tuesday.
