Another true senior guard who the Lakers should keep their eye on is Myles Powell of Seton Hall. Like Howard, Powell has been a household name in the Big East the last few seasons, as he is an excellent scoring guard as well.

In his junior and senior seasons, Powell has been able to average over 20 points per game for Seton Hall, as he is certainly the go-to guy for the Pirates. Compared to Howard, Powell does have a bit more size, as he is 6’2” and close to 200lbs. When making the switch to the NBA, having some more size is very important for a guard.

While Powell and Howard are both great guards, their games are a bit different. Powell is more of a driver and slasher compared to Howard and his prowess from 3-point range. Even though Howard is the better shooter, Powell could be a playmaker for the Lakers off the bench, which will be a need for next season.

The Lakers have been very good at drafting upperclassmen in recent years who can make an impact right away. Powell should be able to come into the NBA and help a team right away off the bench. With Seton Hall primed for a strong showing in the Big East, Powell will be a player to keep an eye on.
